The Laconia Bike Week in Weirs Beach, NH officially starts tomorrow, but we make the best of the quiet before the storm.
While my oil is being changed on my bike after the first 4400 miles of my trip, we head to the motorcycle museum down the street. The owner receives us just inside the door and tells us some of the stories about the bikes he has meticulously restored.
After walking around the densely pack museum, we pick up my bike and head over to the Tamarack Lobster Shack. The lobster roll is one of the best I’ve ever had.
We stroll around town and check out the vendors selling everything motorcycle related before heading back to the cottage to meet up with my grandpa and his friend Glen, who just rolled into town.
After catching up and sharing stories about our respective journeys to Wiers Beach, we head over to Markis Lobster & Steak Hoiuse to watch a band my grandpa has seen in a number of different cities up and down the east coast called the Living Deads. They are a husband and wife duo who travel the country playing great rockabilly tunes. My grandpa introduces me to the band as if they are old pals.

We return to the cottages and my grandpa and I park outside to catch up. An amazing and wandering conversation lasts until the sunrise chases us inside for a nap. He has priceless stories and incredibly well-tested advice. The all-night discourse is surely unforgettable.
